The folk wisdom that “you are what you eat” and that the human body is the temple of the soul is familiar to everyone, but often we ignore these undeniable facts. Increased hair greasiness can be a result of having canned foods, pickles, smoked meats, spicy foods, sweets, excessive amounts of coffee, alcohol, rich meat broths, and flour products in the diet. Improper nutrition immediately affects the condition of the hair, especially if it leads to a deficiency of Zn, vitamins A, B, E, D.

Excessive brushing (as well as any frequent hair touching)

In normal conditions, hair should not be brushed more than four times a day, and twice is an ideal option.   2. Use room temperature water for washing (hot water activates sebaceous glands) and high-quality (preferably professional) products suitable for your skin and hair type, as well as their needs – it’s better to choose products based on natural ingredients and mild surfactants.
  3. Avoid washing your hair every day – the frequency of procedures should correspond to the type and structure of hair and scalp (usually not more than once every two to three days).
  4. Choose styling products carefully (cosmetics with proteins, silicones, lipid complexes weigh down hair significantly).
  5. Use conditioners, masks, balms, etc., correctly – typically, they should be applied to the mid-lengths of hair only (cosmetics intended for the scalp should be applied only to the scalp).
  6. Monitor dandruff presence and treat it promptly.
  7. Do scalp peeling periodically (once every one or two weeks) – it removes impurities, eliminates sebum buildup, and opens pores.
  8. Comb your hair gently with a clean comb (preferably up to three or four times a day) and get rid of the harmful habit of constantly touching your hair, winding it around your finger, or scratching your head.
  9. Avoid blow-drying your hair on a hot setting.
  10. Avoid tying your hair too tightly in a ponytail or tight braids.
